Hunt’s life as a U.S. Marshal doesn’t get any easier.
Beth goes into labor and has a difficult birth. Hunt is advised that she appears to have some internal damage and recommends they have no more children.
Hunt receives a telegram from Jewels advising him that his men tracked a gang of three men to Utah and appear to be headed south into Utah. Hunt sends his men on a mission to cut them off but finds they’re too late.
Hunt receives an alarming message from Buzz Sauer. A religious group have invaded Hidden Valley and have run Buzz Sauer and George’s family off the ranch. Hunt and the men ride to Hidden Valley and find his friend Dodd in a gun battle.
The confrontation ends with Hunt having to kill one of the men, and the leaders of the religious group claim to be Jesus and Moses. After questioning the prisoners, Hunt learns that more are on their way.
Clayton leads a group to Coulson, located in Montana Territory. A man is killed every day in Coulson, and when they arrive, they find the whole town is against them.
Clayton meets a woman that he has feelings for but refuses to admit it. He is afraid of where it may lead.

I have read this one three times now, and expect to read it again often. That expectation is built on the knowledge that I have re-read the entire series of both Hunt and Storm Warrior several times, and this book maintains and contributes to the excellence of the overall set. WLC has penned a US Marshall Hunt Porter western which includes a Stage Coach robbery with a long involved chase, a murder and a mission that results in robbery.. Hunt purchases farm equip many to expand the ranch operation. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER

This is one of the best stories about Hunt U.S. Marshall. It kept my interest through the entire story. Would highly recommend to all that likes to read a good western.
I have the whole series on my Fire and am anxiously awaiting #25. As a retired teacher strong on language arts and English, though, I would have expected an editor to have gone through all of them, which apparently didn't happen. The stories themselves were well thought out and provided very enjoyable reading.
W.L. Cox, has done it again. A superb read full of good old we fisticuffs and gun play. What fan of western lore could want for more? Hunt's deputies are a no nonsense group of professional laymen who track down and ring to justice the scoundrels in need of swift justice. You western fans will enjoy this book. So, "Giddy Up."
